BSDA took part in #Run2Gether Bulgaria - event with a cause!
People with disabilities and their friends with big hearts ran together to support the sport for all and create an Adapted Youth Career Center. On May 19, 2018, the first Bulgarian edition of one of the most successful mini-marathons with a cause in the world took place. At the launch of Run2Gether, people with disabilities and their supporters with big hearts of politics, business, stage, sports, as well as many other sympathetic citizens stood alongside.
In the charity marathon in pairs, each participant with a big heart stood next to a man with different options, and both passed between 2.2 and 6.6km. to a common goal - to overcome themselves and cross the final, where they parted half of a medal, symbol and reward for their friendship.
Run2Gether has two major goals: to promote sport for all and to give voice to the need for equal inclusion, equal access and change of attitudes towards people with disabilities. The means of donating tickets to the marathon along with Responsible Business donations will help create an Adapted Youth Career Center for people with different opportunities to prepare them for labor market needs. The President - Radev, Mayor of Sofia Fandakova, entrepreneurs, champions and show stars supported the charity run.
Bulgarian sports development association supported the initiative by organizing an adapted golf training for participants with various opportunities and an information tent to inform visitors about the activities of the organization. During the event, visitors also became acquainted with the activities of the project #GoodGovernanceSport, coordinated by the Bulgarian sports development association. #GoodGovernanceSport / 590305-EPP-1-2017-1-BG-SPO-SCP / is co-funded under the Erasmus + Sport Program of the European Commission / Strategic partnerships in the field of sport / of 7 countries, which will last for 30 months, starting on 01/01/2018. The #GoodGovernanceSport project aims to find a way to analyze, collect and promote good practices for appropriate visibility of decisions made and made, responsible bodies and transparency of sports organizations in Europe and partner countries. The event was also supported by the Association of Bulgarians with Asthma, Allergy and Cobb (ABBA) and the Confederation of Health Protection (CHP).
In the charity run, alongside people with different opportunities, many stars from sport and showbiz, respected public figures, big companies and big-hearted citizens, including ambassadors of the initiative, who supported its realization, took part.
For the event from Thailand arrived the founder of Run2Gether Chachai Afibanpoonpon, together with a participant with various opportunities that was part of Run2Gether Bangkok.
Run2Gether is one of the most successful mini-marathons in the world and since Saturday Sofia is part of the international disability support initiative, also held in New York, Amsterdam and Bangkok. Organizer of Run2gether Bulgaria is JAMBA.
